UI/UX design

UI/UX Design Services Based on Real User Research

DesignFXPro provides UI/UX design services for websites, web apps and mobile apps. We start with user research, test prototypes with real people before any code is written, and then build what we design in-house.

A good-looking interface that solves the wrong problem still fails. This page explains what UI/UX design includes, the warning signs that you need it, our five-phase process, what drives cost and timeline, and the accessibility standards every design must meet.

Short answer

UI/UX design services make a website or app easy to use and effective at turning visitors into customers. UX design decides how the product works, through research, user flows and wireframes, and UI design decides how it looks. DesignFXPro does both, tests prototypes with real users before development, and then builds the result.

Key takeaways

  • UX covers research, structure and usability; UI covers visual design, and both should come from the same team.
  • Nielsen Norman Group found that testing with 5 users uncovers about 85% of usability problems, so small, repeated tests beat one large study.
  • WCAG 2.2 Level AA asks for a text contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 and pointer targets of at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels, with listed exceptions.
  • On our projects a focused redesign takes a few weeks and a full product design typically takes one to three months.
  • On a recent legal-sector project, our redesign brought all Core Web Vitals into passing range and cut mobile load time from 7.2 seconds to 1.9 seconds.

What are UI/UX design services?

UI/UX design services are the research, structure and visual design that make a digital product easy to use and effective at converting. UX (user experience) covers how the product works: research, user flows, information architecture and usability. UI (user interface) covers how it looks: layout, type, color, components and states.

UX comes first, then UI. If an agency offers UI-only work, ask who is handling the UX, because a polished screen built on an unclear flow still loses users. Our guide on UI vs UX design explains the difference in more detail.

What is included

  • User research: interviews, personas, journey maps and competitive analysis.
  • UX and information architecture: user flows, sitemaps and wireframes.
  • UI design: brand-applied, conversion-focused interface design.
  • Prototyping and usability testing: clickable prototypes tested with real users.
  • Design systems: reusable component libraries for consistency and scale.
  • Developer handoff: specs and files engineers can build from directly.

On a recent legal-sector redesign, DesignFXPro rebuilt conversion paths across the hero, results and contact sections, brought all Core Web Vitals into passing range and cut mobile load time from 7.2 seconds to 1.9 seconds with engagement unchanged.

Who needs UI/UX design, and what are the warning signs?

Any business whose website or app is the main path to a lead, booking or sale needs UI/UX design. The need is most urgent when traffic is steady but conversions are not, because that gap usually points to friction in the experience rather than a lack of visitors.

  • Visitors reach key pages but rarely fill in the form, book or check out.
  • Support gets the same how-do-I questions every week.
  • Mobile users leave faster than desktop users.
  • Each new page or feature looks slightly different from the last one.
  • Developers keep asking how a screen should behave because no spec exists.
  • You are about to build an app or web app and have not tested the flow with users.

UI/UX design is not the first fix when a site has almost no visitors. If few people reach your key pages, the problem is reach, and search engine optimization or paid ads should come before a redesign.

How does the DesignFXPro UI/UX design process work?

Our UI/UX process runs in five phases, and a human designer stays in the loop at every phase. Each phase ends with something you can review, so problems surface while they are still cheap to fix.

  1. Research and discover: learn who the users are and what the business needs, ending with personas and a clearly defined problem.
  2. Structure: build user flows, a sitemap and low-fidelity wireframes.
  3. UI design: create high-fidelity screens on a shared design system.
  4. Prototype and test: validate a clickable prototype with real users before code is written.
  5. Handoff and build: deliver developer-ready specs, or let our team build the product in-house.

Testing does not need large samples. Jakob Nielsen of Nielsen Norman Group reported that a study with 5 users finds about 85% of usability problems, and recommended several small rounds with redesigns in between. We follow that approach: test, fix, then test again.

What affects the cost and timeline of UI/UX design?

Scope drives both cost and timeline: the number of screens, how deep the research goes and whether you need a full design system. DesignFXPro gives a written estimate before work begins and does not publish fixed prices.

Why choose DesignFXPro for UI/UX design?

DesignFXPro designs from research, measures designs against business actions and builds what it designs. Those three things remove the most common reasons a design looks good in a presentation and then underperforms after launch.

  • Research-led decisions: personas, flows and tests come before visual polish.
  • Measured against business actions: we track signups, bookings or sales, not only how the screens look.
  • One team designs and builds through our web development and mobile app development services, so nothing is lost at handoff.
  • Accessibility and Core Web Vitals are treated as design requirements from the first wireframe.
  • You own the editable source files, such as Figma files.

Across all services, DesignFXPro has delivered 300+ projects for clients in 15+ countries. Results vary by product, audience and starting point.

A full research program is not always the right spend. For a small brochure site with low traffic, an analytics review and one round of prototype testing usually gives enough evidence to act.

Which accessibility and design standards apply?

The main standard for digital interfaces is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, a W3C Recommendation with three levels: A, AA and AAA. We design to Level AA as the working target.

  • Text contrast: WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.4.3 asks for a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
  • Interface contrast: criterion 1.4.11 asks for at least 3:1 for the visual parts needed to identify controls and their states.
  • Target size: criterion 2.5.8 asks for pointer targets of at least 24 by 24 CSS pixels, with exceptions such as enough spacing or inline links.

Performance is part of design too. Google's Core Web Vitals set good thresholds of an LCP within 2.5 seconds, an INP of 200 milliseconds or less and a CLS of 0.1 or less, so we design layouts, images and interactions with those limits in mind.

What should you do next?

The next step is to find the one flow that matters most to revenue. These four steps prepare you for a useful first conversation with DesignFXPro.

  1. Pick the action that matters most, such as a booking, signup or checkout.
  2. Check in your analytics where visitors drop out of that flow, on mobile and desktop.
  3. Collect the questions customers or support staff ask most about using the site or app.

Do I need both UI and UX design, or just one?

You need both, because a clear flow with a weak interface feels untrustworthy, and a polished interface on a confusing flow still loses users. The one exception is a product whose flows already test well with users, where a UI refresh alone can be enough. DesignFXPro handles both in one team, so the two never pull in different directions.

How long does a UI/UX design project take?

A focused redesign of a few key pages usually takes a few weeks, and a full product design for a web app or mobile app typically takes one to three months. Quick feedback keeps the schedule, because each of the five phases ends with something you review before the next one starts. We confirm the timeline in the written estimate.

Do you design for both web and mobile apps?

Yes. DesignFXPro designs websites, web apps and mobile apps, and can design a website and companion app together on one design system. Designing both at once keeps navigation, components and brand consistent, so customers recognize the product on any device.

Will I get a design system and the source files?

Yes. Projects that need it include a design system, a reusable library of components and styles with usage rules. You receive editable source files, such as Figma files, and you own them, so your team or another developer can extend the product later.

Can you improve an existing website or app instead of starting over?

Yes. We start with a UX audit that reviews analytics, user flows, accessibility and performance, then redesign the parts that cause friction while keeping what already works. This is often faster and lower risk than a full rebuild, especially when the site already ranks well in search.

Do you build what you design?

Yes. Our web development and mobile app development teams build the designs, which avoids the reinterpretation that happens when designs pass between two companies. If you prefer your own developers, we deliver developer-ready specs and files instead.
